We keep things simple: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and you can ask us anything at info.wikifarms@gmail.com. This page covers the WikiFarms Australia website and its free tools.
Our free tools
- Postcode checker and harvest map: they work in your browser. We don’t store what you look up.
- 88 days calculator: your work periods are saved in your browser so you can come back to them. If you choose to fill in the optional employer details (farm or company name, phone, town or address, type of work), these details are sent to our server with technical data such as your IP address. We use them only to improve the WikiFarms Australia directory of farms. Leave these fields empty if you prefer.
- Forms and emails: when you write to us or add a farm, we use what you send only to answer you and to update our directory.
Piña, the chat assistant
Piña runs in your browser. Your conversation is not sent to us. When Piña can’t answer a question, or when you click 👍 or 👎, we keep an anonymous note of the question to improve the answers. We don’t record your IP address with it, and email addresses or phone numbers typed in the question are hidden before it is saved.
Statistics and cookies
We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google may set cookies for this. We don’t use advertising cookies. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Outside services
Some features load files from other services, which may see your IP address as with any website:
- Map tiles: OpenStreetMap (harvest map)
- Code and AI model files for Piña: cdnjs, jsDelivr and Hugging Face
- Links to Facebook, Instagram, the App Store and Google Play, which have their own privacy policies
The mobile apps
The WikiFarms Australia app and the free 88 Days Calculator app have their own privacy policy: read the app privacy policy. To delete your WikiFarms account and its data, follow the steps on our account deletion page.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete information about you, including a farm listing. Farm owners can also ask us to hide their listing and show it again later. Write to info.wikifarms@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as we can.
We may update this page when our tools change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
